We will be far away from our favorite things (family and friends) while here in Japan. This is a way to facilitate communications and post pictures while we are here. It will be almost like having you along on our trip to the "land of the rising sun."

good excuses... Seems like it is easy for me to find "good" excuses for doing or not doing things. Guess I am the only one who does that...lol...anyhoots, as most of you know, I was very fortunate to get a job here on base as the nurse in the high school. It is such a great job and I adore the kids. There's a rare time when I'm tempted to pull my "K-Mart" mother routine, but once I threatened a kid with that and he had never lived in the states so it didn't understand the concept. After I explained what I meant, we both got a good laugh over it. I'm quite sure David, Emily and Amy (and now Cailin) knew EXACTLY what was meant by "K-Mart" mother!! However, we understand some of the problems with the kids after we meet the parents!My excuse, then, is that now I am working and have much less time...which is not really the truth since my job is only 4 hours a day. 7:30 to 11:30 M-F with all school holidays off. It's a really hard life but, as you can see, offers me no real excuses. So, I will continue with our trip through Japan. I still love it here and would be very happy if (1) my whole family would just pick up and move to Japan and (2) Carlos's job was a little easier. With all of the military cuts due to the war, they have to work very short-handed.I have had a lot of great adventures since my last post. Have traveled around and been very active with learning new art techniques, teaching English classes, and classes in Paper Arts at the arts and crafts center here on base.
